Tehseen Poonawalla and Monicka Vadera donate organs for humanity

While generally wedding anniversaries are a time to celebrate, entrepreneur Tehseen Poonawalla and his wife Monicka Vadera Poonawalla decided to do something different and noble. The couple often in the spotlight both in the glamour and political world decided to let go of all the festivities and celebrate their first wedding anniversary by pledgingto donate all their organs and tissues. The couple signed the pledge at Jehangir hospital in presence of the CEO George Eapen  two days before their anniversary.

Monicka Vadera Poonawalla speaking on the occasion said that “both my husband and I have an extremely privileged and healthy life and therefore it is our duty and responsibility to share our blessings with others.” Tehseen added “people say you live only once but through this organ donation I believe you can continue to live not one but many lives even after you have gone”

Dr Vrinda who heads the organ donation team from the hopsital said that they were delighted the couple chose to donate their organs and tissues. She hoped the deed by the Poonawalla’s would inspire others to do so as well and help other people live a quality life.
