Mithila Samaj Pune Rings in Makar Sankranti with Community Celebrations

Pune, 19th January 2024: Mithila Samaj Pune brought the spirit of Makar Sankranti alive by celebrating the festival with the people of Mithila at Ahilyadevi Holkar Mahila Udyog in Tukaram Nagar, Kharadi, Pune.

Amidst a joyous atmosphere, members and guests of Mithila Samaj Pune gathered with the local residents to relish traditional dishes such as Khichdi and curd vegetables, fostering a sense of unity and cultural exchange.

Approximately 500 individuals partook in the Makar Sankranti festivities, graced by esteemed Chief Guest Rakesh Jha, Income Tax Commissioner Pune, and Special Guest DY Patil University Vice Chancellor Prabhat Ranjan. Senior members of the organization, including Sudhir Mishra, RN Jha, Bachchan Dev Mishra, and Prem Kant Mishra, honored the distinguished guests with traditional offerings like Paag, Chadar, and garlands.

The president of the organization, Sangeeta Pawan Chaudhary, extended warm wishes for Makar Sankranti, emphasizing the joy of celebrating the festival with the people of Mithila.

Preeti Mishra captivated the audience with her melodious singing, presenting a welcome song that added to the festive spirit. The stage was ably moderated by Rishi Jha. Vice Chancellor of DY Patil University, Prabhat Ranjan, shared insights into various scientific aspects, while Income Tax Commissioner Pune, Rakesh Jha, offered valuable tips for children aspiring to crack UPSC exams.

Shammi Jha, the enthusiastic coordinator of the Makar Sankranti festival, played a vital role in ensuring the success of the event. In addition to Sangeeta Pawan Chaudhary, the program witnessed the active participation of Secretary Manoj Jha, Ajay Mishra, Ganesh Jha, Jatashankar Chaudhary, Pawan Chaudhary, Ashutosh Jha alias Rocky, Priya Ranjan Jha, Kaushal Jha, Ranjan Jha, Pankaj Jha, Om Prakash Jha, Suman Jha, Laxman Jha, and numerous other social workers.

Sudhir Mishra expressed gratitude in the vote of thanks, acknowledging the collective effort that made the Makar Sankranti celebration a memorable and culturally enriching experience for all involved.
