Pimpri Chinchwad, September 22, 2020: MLA Anna Bansode has demanded an enquiry against contractors who have issued fake Fixed Deposit receipts(FDR) as PSD (Performance Security Deposit) in the last three years for obtaining a tender. In this regard, Bansode has written a letter to Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation(PCMC) demanding strict action.

PCMC is not sure whether FDRs issued by the contractors as PSD, at a rate of less than 11% is true or false, claimed Bansode. “Gangs are working in the city to make fake and bogus FDRs, and many such bogus FDR contractors are working with the civic body. There is a big racket in this case and due to the connivance of the contractor and the officer, this case has not been investigated yet”, he said.

Bansode explained that PCMC issues tenders for several works and tenders are allotted at 20-32 percent lower rates. However, after the job is assigned, it is mandatory to submit FDR as PSD, and a large amount of money has to be deposited in the form of Deposit draft(DD). “PCMC does not verify whether the FDR submitted is fake or genuine. Taking advantage of this a gang has been active for submitting fake FDR to the civic body”, he said.

Meanwhile, he has demanded that the Corporation should blacklist such contractors by filing a legal case against them. MLA Bansode has also made it clear that the scam of crores of rupees, in this case, will be revealed after the inquiry.
