MLA’s daughter looses finger in attack by jilted lover

Pune – A girl lost one of her finger after being attacked by her batchmate against whom she had complained of harassment.

The incident took place around 9.15 am on Monday in Wakad area. The girl Ashwini Bodkurwar (22) is undergoing treatment at a nearby private hospital. She is the daughter of BJP MLA Sanjiv Bodkurwar from Wani in Yavatmal district.

Pune police have nabbed the attacker identified as Rajesh Bakshi (25), a native of Haryana.

According to police, both of them study MBA at Balaji Institute of Modern Management (BIMM) in Tathwade near Wakad. Few days back Ashwini had complained to the college administration about alleged harassment by Bakshi. After that Bakshi had given written apology and undertaking not to harrass her in future. However on Monday when she came out of her hostel, Bakshi attacked her with a sharp weapon behind Ginger Hotel.

Police said that Bakshi also sustained injuries when Ashwini fought back.
