MLAs to get 34-storied new Manora MLA Hostel in Mumbai

Mumbai, July 24, 2019 : Maharashtra has a glorious tradition of parliamentary system. The new building of Manora MLA Hostel would add to this glory when completed, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis exuded confidence today.

He was speaking at a function held in Vidhan Bhavan after performing the bhumipujan of this new Manora MLA Hostel. Speaker Haribhau Bagde, Chairman of Legislative Council Ramraje Naik-Nimbalkar, Deputy Speaker Neelam Gorhe, Deputy Chairman Vijay Auti, Whip in the Legislature Raj Purohit, Legislature Secretary (Acting) Jitendra Bhole, Archetict Shashi Prabhu, Ministers and officers were present on this occasion.

Chief Minister Fadnavis further said that Manora MLA Hostel has been the witness to many a historical happenings. The good and bad memories of many are associated with this old building. But the decision to construct new building was taken following a number of accidents continuously taking place here. Shashi Prabhu has prepared a very good and attractive draft of the new building taking into consideration all the necessary requirements. It will have more than 800 rooms to house MLAs, ex-MLAs and delegations coming to the Assembly. NBCC should complete this building using latest technology as early as possible. Redevelopment of Majestic MLA Hostel will also be done. They should look after that also, the Chief Minister said.

 

Recalling the memories of the Manora MLA Hostel, Chairman Ramraje Nimbalkar said that new MLA Hostel will be a very attractive building. The responsibility to maintain this building falls on all. Better services can be provided to the MLA through this. Arrangements for the activists coming to the MLAs should also be done in this building.

 

Speaker Haribhau Bagde said that with the completion of this new Manora MLA Hostel building all the MLAs can stay together. Earlier, they were provided accommodation at five different places.

 

Dy Speaker Neelam Gorhe made introductory remarks, while Dy Chairman Vijay Auti proposed vote of thanks.

 

Earlier, the Chief Minister performed the bhumipujan by breaking the ground at the MLA Hostel. On this occasion Chairman Naik-Nimbalkar, Speaker Bagde, PWS Minister Chandrakant Patil, Parliamentary Affairs Minister Vinod Tawde, Social Justice Minister Suresh Khade, Animal Husbandry Minister Mahadev Jankar, Leader of Opposition in Legislative Assembly Vijay Vadettiwar, MoS Dipak Kesarkar, MoS Parliamentary Affairs Vijay Shivtare, MoS PWD Parinay Fuke were present,
