Pune, 18th April 2025: Maharashtra Natural Gas Limited (MNGL) is pleased to announce the launch of its dedicated app named “My MNGL” to protect the customers from falling prey to fraudulent activities and simplify the gas related services. This initiative aims to provide customers with a safe, transparent, and efficient platform for all their gas-related services while countering the growing misuse of MNGL’s name in digital scams.
Understanding the alarming cyber threats not just in gas utilities, but across banking, telecom, and electricity sectors, MNGL had already taken preemptive action to safeguard its valued customers:
• Issued public awareness notices through leading newspapers (Marathi, Hindi, English).
• Launched SMS and WhatsApp campaigns in English, Hindi, and Marathi.
• Shared fraud alerts via official social media handles including Instagram, Facebook, and X (formerly Twitter).
• Broadcasted safety messages through radio jingles to reach the wider public.
• Lodged a formal complaint with the Pune Police Commissioner regarding these fraudulent calls and messages.
Despite these mass efforts from MNGL, customers continue to get cheated, and cases of fraud continue are being reported. Looking at the pain of the customers, it has prompted MNGL to not only intensify its awareness campaign but also introduce a full proof application “My MNGL” for customers to manage their gas services.
