Mobile Phone Robbery in Pune: Thieves Drag Victim and Bite His Hand Before Fleeing

Hadapsar, 23rd December 2024: Thieves who stole a pedestrian’s mobile phone caused a stir in Pune city. The incident occurred in the Hadapsar area when the thieves attempted to steal a young man’s mobile phone. The young man resisted, but the two-wheeler-riding thieves dragged him away, and the accomplice on the bike bit the young man’s hand. The thieves then stole his mobile phone and fled.

A complaint was filed at the Hadapsar police station by the youth, who resides in the Bhagirathi Nagar area of Hadapsar. The youth, who was walking, had left Bhagirathi Nagar around 8:30 PM on Friday (20th December). While he was turning toward his society, the thieves on a bike tried to steal his mobile phone. The youth resisted and attempted to stop them. During the struggle, the thief dragged the youth for a distance of 200 to 300 meters. The accomplice on the bike bit the youth’s hand, and the youth injured his knee in the scuffle. The thieves then stole the mobile phone and fled.

Upon receiving information about the incident, Assistant Commissioner of Police Ashwini Rakh and Senior Police Inspector Santosh Pandhare, in charge of Hadapsar Police Station, visited the scene. Police Sub-Inspector Arjun Kudale is investigating the case.
