‘Modest Living’: Union Minister Raosaheb Danve Shows His Torn Shirt At Program In Pune
Pune, 25th September 2021: Union Minister of State for Railways Raosaheb Danve was wearing a torn shirt for an event that took place in Pune. Showing off the torn shirt with pride, Danve mentioned that despite being a union minister thrice he never shy away from his modest living.
While sharing an incident he said, “I was in Hyderabad to meet a friend. My friend is well-off. He suggested I buy a Khadi shirt. By I denied it saying that it does not matter whether my shirt is new or torn one.”
“Now tell me here in this crowd how many are wearing a torn shirt. None. As their wives must have told not to wear a torn shirt for an event”, he said which created peals of laughter among the crowd.
He also spoke about the privatisation of Railways. “If we want to provide better services, then we need money for it. We cannot hike the ticket charges. So we allowed a part of the railway to be given for private parties to operate”, the minister said.
