Monsoon Enters Pune District, Intense Spells Of Rain Predicted: IMD

Pune, 6th June 2021: The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed that the Monsoon winds have entered parts of Southern Maharashtra including districts of Raigad, Pune and Osmanabad. It has already covered Ratnagiri, Sindhudurg, Sangli, Satara and Kolhapur districts.

IMD has predicted thunderstorm with lightning and moderate to intense spells of rain with gusty winds at isolated places in districts of Dhule, Jalgaon, Nandurbar, Nasik, Pune, Satara, Ahmednagar, Aurangabad, Beed, Latur, Osmanabad and Nanded today evening.

According to IMD, South West Monsoon today covered around 30% of Maharashtra State. It has covered the entire North-East Indian States and most parts of North Bengal and Sikkim.

“The northern limit of Monsoon winds is passing through Alibaug, Pune, Medak, Nalgonda, Rentichintala, Sriharikota and Bagdogra”, IMD said.
