Monsoon: IMD Predicts Continued Rainfall in Pune Region This Week

Pune, 25th May 2025: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast continued rainfall over Pune and surrounding areas in the coming week, bringing much-needed relief from the heat and raising hopes for a robust monsoon onset.
According to IMD’s latest bulletin, moderate to heavy rainfall is expected in Pune on May 26 and 27, accompanied by generally cloudy skies. The intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease slightly from May 28 to May 30, with the forecast indicating light to moderate showers during this period.

Heavy rainfall was reported in parts of Daund taluka, which recorded the highest rainfall in the district at 59.5 mm, followed by Kurvande (35.5 mm) and Baramati (22.2 mm). Urban Pune witnessed significantly lighter showers, with Shivajinagar receiving 0.8 mm, Pashan 0.7 mm, and Koregaon Park 4.0 mm.
