More Sights, Same Fare: PMPML Adds New Tourist Attractions to Popular Bus Routes
Pune, 24th December 2025: Sightseeing around Pune just became more rewarding for travellers. The Pune Mahanagar Parivahan Mahamandal Limited (PMPML) has expanded its popular tourist bus services by adding new destinations to Tourist Routes No. 6 and 7, allowing passengers to explore additional cultural, religious and heritage sites without any hike in ticket prices.
The expansion has been implemented following directions from PMPML Chairman and Managing Director Pankaj Deore in response to the growing interest from tourists and local residents in the public transport body’s budget-friendly sightseeing initiative.
PMPML currently operates 13 dedicated tourist bus routes, all of which have received encouraging patronage. As part of the latest update, select routes have been enhanced to include more destinations within the existing ₹500 flat fare, offering better value and a richer travel experience.
New Destinations on Route No. 6:
Tourist Bus Route No. 6, operating along the Pune Station–Swargate–Hadapsar circuit, has been extended to include Darekar Wada at Yavat (Daund taluka). With this addition, passengers on the route can now visit:
Pune Station → Swargate → Hadapsar → Ramdara → Theur Ganpati → Prayagdham → Darekar Wada (Yavat) → Hadapsar → Swargate
Route No. 7 Expanded with Heritage and Nature Spots:
Tourist Bus Route No. 7 has also been enhanced, with the inclusion of Morachi Chincholi—famous for peacocks—and key heritage landmarks in Pabal village of Shirur taluka, including the Padmavati Jain Shwetambar Temple and Mastani’s Samadhi.
This route already covers several prominent destinations such as Wagheshwar Temple (Wagholi), Wade Bolhai Temple, Tulapur Triveni Sangam and Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj Memorial, Ranjangaon Ganpati Temple, and the Bhima Koregaon Victory Pillar.
PMPML officials said bookings for the tourist bus service are available at designated pass centres located at Deccan Gymkhana, Pune Station, Swargate, Katraj, Hadapsar Depot, Bhosari Bus Station, Nigdi, and the Pune Municipal Corporation building.
Appealing to tourists and city residents alike, PMPML urged people to make maximum use of the affordable service, which provides a convenient and economical way to explore Pune’s surrounding historical, spiritual and scenic destinations.
