Pune, September 3, 2020: Demanding to re-start the restaurants in the state, Congress Party MP Supriya Sule in her tweet directed towards Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray here recently, said that allowing of the parcel service was not enough to save the hotel industry.

Sule made this statement after she received a letter from Maharashtra Restaurants Club recently in Mumbai. In the long letter, the members of the club had mentioned about the difficulties they have been facing due to lockdown.

“For nearly six months, the hotels and restaurants have been shut leading to a huge financial crisis. Although the hotels are closed we have to pay the rent, the electricity bills, payment of the workers among other recurring expenses”, said the letter.

“And thus we demand to open the hotels and restaurant as opening of parcel services was not enough to sustain the expenses”, it added.

Meanwhile, Sule also had pressed the demand to start the gyms and cinema halls across the state.

In her tweet, she said, “CM Thackeray should lead down the safety guidelines like social distancing to start the restaurants. CM should consider the difficulties faced by the owners and take a positive decision in this regard.
