MSEDCL Launches Lucky Digital Consumer Yojana to Promote Online Electricity Bill Payments

Mumbai, December 18, 2024: Maharashtra State Electricity Distribution Company Limited (MSEDCL) has introduced the Lucky Digital Grahak Yojana to encourage customers to pay their electricity bills online. This initiative targets low-voltage electricity consumers who have not previously used online payment options, with the goal of increasing digital transactions across the state.
Under the scheme, customers paying their electricity bills online for three consecutive months after March 31, 2024, will qualify for a lucky draw offering prizes such as smartphones and smartwatches. Eligible customers include those who had not used the online payment option between April 1, 2023, and March 31, 2024.
Consumers can participate in the scheme by making three or more consecutive online payments between January 1 and May 31, 2025. Payments must be made through digital platforms such as net banking, UPI, debit/credit cards, wallets, QR codes, NEFT, RTGS, or the MSEDCL website and mobile app.
Online Payment Benefits
MSEDCL noted that over 70 percent of its consumers already prefer digital bill payments, which save time and effort. The company incentivizes digital payments with a 0.25 percent discount on the bill amount. Through the Lucky Digital Grahak Yojana, Mahavitaran aims to further boost this proportion.
Eligibility Criteria and Prize Details
To qualify for the scheme:
Customers must pay their electricity bills online for three consecutive months using approved payment methods.
The minimum bill amount should be ₹100.
