Pune, 12th June 2023: Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has launched the new Hirkani service on the ‘Swargate – Mantralaya’ route, starting today. Two new Hirkani services are now operational in the Pune section, providing the employees and officers of the Ministry with the benefits of this enhanced service.

Previously, the Hirkani buses in the ST fleet were in a state of disrepair, resulting in a decline in passenger numbers. In response, the ST Corporation took the decision to manufacture new buses internally, known as self-made diamonds. Currently, the central workshop at Dapodi, Pune is producing a total of 200 new buses. Raigad, Pune division has already added a new Hirkani bus to its fleet.

Starting from Monday, two Hirkani buses in the Pune division are operating on the ‘Swargate – Mantralaya’ route. The bus departs from Swargate at 5:45 am and reaches Mantralaya between 9 am and 9:30 am. It is then scheduled to arrive at Mumbai Central depot by 10 am before returning to Swargate. These details were shared by a senior official of the ST Corporation.
