Pune: New Video Surfaces of Youths Confronting Police Outside Dnyaneshwar Mauli Temple In Alandi
Alandi, 12th June 2023: Another video from Alandi has surfaced, adding to the recent controversy surrounding the lathicharge on Warkari by Pimpri Chinchwad police yesterday. The video, which has gone viral on social media, captures a group of youths flouting the rules and engaging in a confrontation with the police.
Despite the police’s efforts to restrain them, the youths can be seen pushing back the officers and making their way towards the temple, disregarding the authorities.
The incident occurred during the departure of Sant Shreshtha Dnyaneshwar Mauli, resulting in a clash between the police and the youth workers outside the Sanjeevan Samadhi Temple. The police used mild lathicharge to prevent the youths from entering the temple, although no severe beatings took place, as clarified by Pimpri-Chinchwad Police Commissioner Vinay Kumar Choubey.
The incident has drawn criticism from opposition parties, who have voiced their concerns and questioned the state government’s handling of the situation.
