MSRTC To Reduce Fares On Pune-Mumbai Route With Addition Of New AC Electric Buses

Pune, 24th April 2023: The Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation (MSRTC) has signed a contract for 150 AC electric buses, out of which 100 will be supplied by EveryTrans. The new buses are set to be introduced in the MSRTC fleet in the next few months. While 15 buses have already arrived in Pune, they are yet to be officially handed over to the MSRTC.
The buses will be parked at the Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) bus depot and will soon be handed over to MSRTC. These buses have zero-emission and operate quietly, providing passengers with a comfortable and eco-friendly travel experience. With a seating capacity of 43 people, the bus has features such as pushback seats, designed for long-distance travel. It is also equipped with modern amenities like TV and Wi-Fi. Each seat comes with a charger and USB port, and the bus has a luggage capacity of five cubic meters.
The introduction of these new buses will benefit passengers travelling from Pune-Mumbai by providing a more comfortable and eco-friendly travel option with lower fares. The buses are expected to reduce carbon emissions and help in mitigating pollution levels.
The MSRTC has taken a step towards promoting sustainable transportation in the state by introducing electric buses. The corporation plans to expand its electric bus fleet in the coming years, contributing to the state’s efforts towards a cleaner and greener environment. The move is also expected to promote the use of public transport, reducing the number of private vehicles on the road.
