Mulshi: 45 tourists from Pune, PCMC penalised by Pune rural police

Pune, July 5, 2020: Paud police have registered FIRs against 45 individuals found to be visiting Mulshi as tourists, despite orders not to do so due to the prevailing Coronavirus situation. Those who were seen without masks were also charged for a fine of Rs 500.

 

The 45 tourists found by the Paud Police station under Pune rural police at the nakabandi as well as during patrolling in Bhugaon, Male and Lavasa road have been charged, as per the orders from the Pune District Collector.

 

Despite the rising number of COVID-19 cases in Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, people are still seen roaming around without fear. Police are left with no option but to penalise the defaulters.

 

The action was taken under supervision of Police Inspector Ashok Dhumal by Assistant Police Inspector Bhalachandra Shinde, Police Sub-Inspectors Rekha Dudhbhate and Anil Lavate, Police Hawaldar Santosh Kumbhar, Police Naik Nitin Gardi and others.

 

The Pune District Collector had issued an order stating that several tourist spots in Bhor, Mulshi, Maval and Junnar had been banned for tourists this year.
