Andheri, 21th July 2023: Bollywood actor Vivek Oberoi has been deceived of a sum of Rs 1.55 crore under the false pretext of investment. Deven Jawaharlal Bafna, a chartered accountant at Oberoi Mega Entertainment, filed a complaint regarding this on behalf of Vivek Oberoi at the Andheri MIDC police station on Friday morning.

According to the complaint, Vivek Oberoi, along with the accused, established an entertainment production company, with he and his wife being the primary investors in it. The trio of accused individuals, whom Oberoi had partnered with in the firm, purportedly convinced him to invest the mentioned amount in a film project. However, instead of utilising the funds for the film, the accused allegedly diverted the money for their personal expenses, leading to a financial loss for the actor.

In response to the complaint, the Andheri MIDC police have initiated action by registering a case under sections 34, 409, 419, and 420 of the Indian Penal Code, which deal with offences related to cheating, criminal breach of trust, and impersonation. The accused have been identified as cine-producer Sanjay Shah, his mother Nandita Shah, and Radhika Nanda, and police are searching for the accused.

Prior to this incident, Vivek Oberoi had established a company named ‘Oberoi Organics’ in 2017. However, as the venture failed to generate any profits, he made the decision to bring the three accused individuals on board as partners in this company. Having discovered that he had cheated, the actor filed a police complaint against the accused.
