Mumbai-Pune Intercity Express accident averted
Lonavala – The alertness of a gangman prevented a major tragedy on Tuesday morning. Gangman Sunil Kumar saw that there was rail fracture between Thakurwadi and Monkey Hill station as the Intercity Express was passing.
He got the train stopped immediately and a disaster was avoided. After repairing the railway line, the train resumed journey towards Pune. This train reached Pune 1.38 hours late.
Railway officials said that only two trains – Intercity Express and Deccan Express- were delayed due the repair work, while trains are running on time.
