Mumbai, Pune, PCMC residents may not be allowed to travel in Maharashtra, Wait for Zone declaration

Pune, May 2, 2020: The state government has clarified that for better implementation of INTRA-STATE movement of persons between districts in Maharashtra, that there will be no movement into and out of the containment zones as decided by the District Collectors or the Municipal Commissioners. However, people from other states will be allowed to go to their native places.

 

Allowing outward movement from Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR), Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) and Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) areas to other districts has to be done very carefully and shall not start until the Municipal Commissioners decide on the containment zone boundaries in these areas. 

 

Further, extreme care is to be taken before allowing movement from other hot spot areas such as Malegaon, Solapur, Akola, Amravati, Yavatmal , Aurangabad and Nagpur. A certificate of a Registered Medical Practitioner to the effect that the person wishing to travel does not have influenza-like symptoms will be sufficient and separate screening will not be required. The Nodal Authority sending persons to other districts will inform the appropriate Nodal Authority of the receiving district and the movement will start after acceptance letter of the receiving Nodal Authority is issued.   

 

If you are out of containment zone, this how-to travel within Maharashtra

Workers, students, pilgrims who are stranded in Pune district due to lockdown, if they want permission to go to their hometown in other districts of Maharashtra and have own vehicle, they should fill in the required information by clicking on the link below. For group, travel apply to local police

Meanwhile, the Maharashtra government has clarified that for a group of persons who want to travel from cities, there is a separate procedure. In the Police Commissionerate areas, the local police stations will collect information about groups of persons wanting to depart for their home towns. This information will be submitted by a group leader with his details including aadhar number, telephone number and address and also the destination of the group and the preferred mode of transport. The application will also have a list of persons in the group along with their names, aadhar numbers, telephone numbers and addresses.

For such areas, the zonal DCPs are hereby appointed as Nodal Authorities. Their contact details are attached and they will be responsible for the duties and responsibilities of the District Collectors laid out in the notification dated 30.04.2020.

 

The system of e-pass currently being used by Maharashtra police will be made available for this purpose to the nodal authorities. Appropriate changes are being made in the system. The State/UT/District sending such persons to Maharashtra will inform the appropriate Nodal Authority about the intended movement. And the movement will start after acceptance letter is issued by the Nodal Authority.
