Mumbai–Pune Train Services Hit Hard: 41 Trains Cancelled, 59 Diverted After Karjat-Lonavala Landslide

Pune, 7th July 2026: The impact of the landslide in the South East Ghat section between Karjat and Lonavala continued to disrupt rail operations on Tuesday, with Central Railway reporting widespread cancellations, diversions and changes to train services as restoration work progressed in the affected section.

According to the latest operational update issued till 4.30 am on July 7, a total of 41 Mail/Express trains have been cancelled, while 59 trains have been diverted, 20 trains short-terminated, 22 trains short-originated, and four trains rescheduled due to the landslide between Thakurvadi Cabin and Monkey Hill Cabin.

In addition to Mail and Express services, four local train services between Pune and Lonavala have also been cancelled.

The disruption follows heavy rainfall in the South East Ghat section over the past several days, which triggered a landslide between Thakurvadi Cabin and Monkey Hill Cabin, affecting rail traffic on one of the busiest routes connecting Mumbai and Pune.

The following Mail/Express trains have been cancelled:

Train No. 11092 Pune–Bhuj Express (Journey commencing July 6), cancelled instead of being diverted and rescheduled.

Train No. 11091 Bhuj–Pune Express (Journey commencing July 8).

Train No. 12169 Pune–Solapur Intercity Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 12170 Solapur–Pune Intercity Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 22106 Pune–CSMT Indrayani Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 12128 Pune–CSMT Intercity Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 11008 Pune–CSMT Deccan Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 12123 CSMT–Pune Deccan Queen Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 11011 CSMT–Dhule Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 11012 Dhule–CSMT Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 11009 CSMT–Pune Sinhagad Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Partial Cancellation

Train No. 11029 CSMT–Kolhapur Koyna Express (Journey commencing July 7) has been cancelled between CSMT and Karjat. The train will operate on schedule from Karjat to Kolhapur using the rake of Train No. 11140 Hosapete–CSMT Express.

Additional Train Diversions

The following trains have been diverted:

Train No. 22160 Chennai–CSMT Superfast Express (Journey commencing July 6) via Daund–Manmad–Igatpuri–Kalyan.

Train No. 09029 Veraval–Dadar Special (Journey commencing July 6) via Daund–Manmad–Jalgaon–Paldhi–Surat.

Train No. 17614 Hazur Sahib Nanded–Panvel Express (Journey commencing July 6) via Daund–Manmad–Igatpuri–Kalyan–Panvel.

Train No. 14805 Yesvantpur–Barmer Express (Journey commencing July 6) via Daund–Manmad–Jalgaon–Paldhi–Surat.

Train No. 11014 Coimbatore–LTT Express (Journey commencing July 6) via Daund–Manmad–Igatpuri–Kalyan.

Additional Short-Terminated Trains

Train No. 17317 Hubballi–Dadar Express (Journey commencing July 6) will terminate at Pune and return as Train No. 17318 Dadar–Hubballi Express from Pune.

Train No. 22731 Hyderabad–CSMT Express (Journey commencing July 6) will terminate at Pune and return as Train No. 12701 CSMT–Hyderabad Express from Pune.

Train No. 22226 Solapur–CSMT Vande Bharat Express (Journey commencing July 7) will terminate at Pune and return as Train No. 22225 CSMT–Solapur Vande Bharat Express from Pune.

Additional Short-Originating Trains

The following trains will originate from Pune instead of their scheduled originating stations:

Train No. 17318 Dadar–Hubballi Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 12701 CSMT–Hyderabad Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Train No. 22225 CSMT–Solapur Vande Bharat Express (Journey commencing July 7).

Rescheduled Train

Train No. 20705 Nanded–CSMT Express (Journey commencing July 7) has been rescheduled by two hours and will operate as Train No. 20706 CSMT–Nanded Express, departing at 3.15 pm instead of 1.15 pm.

Central Railway continues restoration work in the affected Karjat–Lonavala ghat section as train operations remain impacted. Passengers have been advised to check the latest train status before commencing their journey.
