Mumbai, Pune University Vice-Chancellor Selection Committee Announced By Maharashtra Governor
Mumbai, 30th January 2023: Maharashtra Governor and Chancellor Bhagat Singh Koshyari has formed separate selection committees for the selection of new Vice-Chancellors of Mumbai University and Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU).
Vice Chancellor Selection Committee of Mumbai University has been constituted under the chairmanship of former Chairman of University Grants Commission DP Singh. Vice Chancellor Selection Committee for Savitribai Phule Pune University has been announced under the chairmanship of former chairman of All India Council of Technical Education (AICTE) Dr Anil Sahasrabudhe.
Director of IIT Varanasi Prof. Pramod Kumar Jain, Additional Chief Secretary, Home Department, Anand Limaye and Chancellor of English and Foreign Language University, Hyderabad, Prof. Suresh Kumar (UGC representative) will be the other members of Mumbai University Vice-Chancellor Selection Committee.
IIT Kanpur Director Dr. Abhay Karandikar, Additional Chief Secretary of Water Resources Department Deepak Kapoor and former Chancellor of Karnataka State Women’s University Dr. Meena Chandavarkar (UGC representative) will be the other member of Savitribai Phule Pune University Chancellor Selection Committee.
Mumbai University Vice Chancellor Dr. Suhas Pednekar’s tenure ended on 10th September 2022, and the post of vice chancellor of the university became vacant. Vice Chancellor of Shivaji University Prof. Digambar Shirke has been entrusted with the additional charge of the said post.
Savitribai Phule Pune University Vice Chancellor Dr Nitin Karamalkar’s tenure ended on 18 May 2022. Vice Chancellor of Babasaheb Ambedkar University of Technology Dr. Karbhari Kale has been entrusted with the additional charge of the said post.
