Mumbai Woman Teacher Arrested for Sexually Abusing Minor Boy
Mumbai, 3rd July 2025: A 38-year-old female educator from a school in the island city was apprehended for allegedly molesting a 16-year-old male student over a period exceeding one year. Authorities have charged the teacher, along with a female accomplice who reached out to the boy on her behalf when he began to withdraw, under various provisions of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (Pocso) Act.
The 11th-grade student first met the teacher, a married woman with children, through extracurricular programs, including dance workshops she coordinated in December 2023. Over time, she allegedly built a rapport with him, gradually isolating him from his peers.
According to police, she drove him to secluded spots in her car, where the alleged assaults took place. The vehicle has been confiscated by authorities. Additionally, she reportedly took him to luxury hotels, where further abuse allegedly occurred.
Sources confirm the teacher has stepped down from her position. Investigators revealed that she allegedly provided the boy with alcohol and anti-anxiety medication before the assaults. During interrogations, the student disclosed that he endured the abuse in silence, hoping it would cease after he completed his Class 12 exams earlier this year.
Emotional distress and anxiety eventually led him to come forward. The complaint was filed after he graduated, prompted by the teacher contacting him through one of her household staff, urging him to meet her again. “The boy’s family then approached us to file a case,” a police official stated.
On Wednesday, the teacher was presented before a special Pocso court, which ordered her detention until Thursday. The court has also approved a psychiatric evaluation of the accused. Police are investigating her previous interactions with other students and analyzing her digital records for signs of inappropriate behavior.
“She portrayed herself as a guide but abused her authority to prey on a vulnerable minor. This is a grave violation of trust and ethics,” a senior officer remarked.
