Muskaan a short film inspired by the real-life saga of an 11-year-old girl from Pune
Pune, October 2017: A child’s smile is the purestform of Smile, one can imagine. “Muskaan”, a short film by Rahul Panshikar produced by the CSR Wing of Fleetguard Filters Pvt. Ltd., portrays the emotion through an 11 year old girl “Muskaan”, who lives on Footpath and begs on Traffic Signals with her family. It is a film of this little girl and of the angel called Neha who helped Muskaan by giving her hope and a new life. The film was recently screened at NFAI Pune and received huge appreciation from audiences which included people from the Film Fraternity.
Says, Rahul Panshikar, Proprietor, Rahul’s Grafix Photography Studio, says “Begging is rampant in India today as it is in so many poor world countries. Unscrupulous elements languishing in the society have turned begging into a roaring industry to further their own ulterior interests and to fleece the poor further by exploiting them. There are over 4 lakh beggars roaming the streets of India; something that we should be ashamed of and try our best to change. If you are thinking ‘How can we as a single person, or a few persons change this sordid state of things?’, then the answer is ‘We can!’ Muskaan is just an example of such an initiative by Fleetguard Filters Pvt. Ltd. and Rahul’s Grafix towards helping India’s footpath residents live a life of dignity and self-respect.”
Niranjan Kirloskar, MD, Fleetguard Filters Pvt. Ltd. says, “Fleetguard Filters Pvt. Ltd. has always been concerned with humanitarian issues. As a corporate, we take it as a responsibility to contribute our share towards the betterment of society. That is why we have set up a CSR Wing to ensure we have a dedicated team to fight social evils.”
He further adds,” Rahuls Grafix and Fleetguard’s initiative ‘Muskaan’ will definitely help footpath residents by educating citizens to contribute towards development of these residents, not by giving them money but by helping them live a respectable life by earning money through employment or becoming educated and becoming future-ready citizens.
