Mytrah Energy & BITS Pilani to collaborate on R&D

MoU includes faculty consultancy projects & fellowship for students

National, January 27, 2017: Mytrah Energy, one of India’s largest independent power producer in renewable energy signed a MoU with Birla Institute of Technological Sciences (BITS) Pilani, Hyderabad Campus for collaborative R&D initiatives. The partnership will focus on areas of product development, research, technical support as well as training and development.

The MoU includes software and hardware development, faculty consultancy projects and fellowship for students working on the joint projects. As part of this collaboration, joint initiatives pertaining to big data analytics, condition monitoring and foundation analysis for wind turbines would be pursued further.

Prof. G Sundar, Director, BITS Pilani, Hyderabad campus said, “With increasing demand for renewable energy resources, there is an urgent need to foster intellectual potential well- equipped with knowledge base and synchronized with changing global energy needs. BITS-Pilani is committed to the development of such a resource pool from its budding engineers. The industry-institute partnership in projects at different levels is part of BITS-Pilani’s continuous engagement with the outside world. It provides students and faculty opportunities to work on live projects catering to societal needs. The partnership with Mytrah Energy is an initiative in this direction”.
