Nadroop to organize ‘Echoes of Inner Voice’

Pune, August 27, 2018: Nadroop, a unique and elite dance school is organizing ‘Echoes of Inner Voice’ on its successful completion of 31 years. In the choreography titled ‘Echoes of inner voice’, the focus would be on the Bhaav / Abhinaya through five relatively unexplored stories. The program is organized on Saturday, September 1, 2018 at Annabhau Sathe Auditorium, Padmavati, Pune at 6 pm. An announcement to this effect was made by Kathak Guru Shama Bhate, Director, Nadroop in a Press Conference held in the city today. The entry for the program is free and open for all.

Kedar Pandit and Swapnil Kumawat were also present during the Press Conference.

Connoisseurs will get a chance to see the effort of strengthening the solo tradition of ‘Bhaav’, while unfolding them. Also, the transition and connection between the stories will be established through a dialogue between a wise grandmother and her impulsive grand daughter on the screen. With the grandmother’s Psychologist background, she contemplates that the inner turmoil, the outburst of emotions, the conflict between right and wrong beliefs have bothered humankind through ages.

While speaking on the occasion Guru Shama Bhate, disciple of Guru Rohini Bhate said, “On completion of 31 years we are yet again experimenting with dramatic and emotional element of Kathak using multimedia”. Kathak has tremendous potential in both the areas of pure dance (Nritta) as well as expressional dance (Nritya) she added.

Last year Nadroop presented ‘Chaturang ki Chaupal’. It treated the Punekars with old and rare form of Indian Classical Music, Chaturang is comprised of four components such as Tarana, Sargam, Sahitya and rhythmic syllables intricately and equally woven together. It was presented to explore and establish the innovative space of Chaupal, while sticking to the core traditional dance and music said, Guru Shama Bhate on recollecting previous year memories.

Echoes of Inner Voice is conceptualized and choreographed by Guru Shama Bhate. The dancers of the program are Dheerendra Tiwari (Delhi), Souvik Chakraborty (Kolkata), Vishwadeep Sharma (Delhi), Ameera Patankar, Avani Gadre, Shivani Karmarkar, Bhargavi Sardesai, Isha Nanal, Krupa Tendulkar and Nikita Karale (Pune). Music is composed by Kedar Pandit, Filmed by Swapnil Kumavat, Lights by Harshwardhan Pathak, Sound by Nitin Joshi, Costumes by M.B. Nagaraj and Sheetal Oak.
