Nagpur Railway Station Platform No. 2 to Remain Closed for 52 Days; Trains Diverted, Short-Terminated

Nagpur, 06 April 2026: Nagpur Division of Central Railway will undertake major infrastructure upgradation works at Nagpur Railway Station, during which Platform No. 2 will remain closed from April 8, 2026 to May 29, 2026 for a period of 52 days.

The work will be executed by the Rail Land Development Authority as part of station infrastructure and passenger amenity upgrades. The work schedule has been aligned with the Non-Interlocking (NI) work at Gondia Railway Station under South East Central Railway starting April 4, 2026, utilizing the shadow block period for safe execution while minimizing disruption to train operations.

During the block period, Platform No. 3 will remain operational for handling train movements at Nagpur station.

Operational Changes

No trains will be cancelled during the block period. However, some trains will be short-terminated, short-originated, diverted, or regulated.

Short Termination

Train No. 01140 Madgaon – Nagpur Special (Thursday, Sunday) will be short-terminated at Ajni from April 9, 2026 to May 28, 2026.

Short Origination

Train No. 01139 Nagpur – Madgaon Special (Wednesday, Saturday) will originate from Ajni instead of Nagpur from April 8, 2026 to May 27, 2026.

Diversion of Trains

The following trains will be diverted via an alternate route:

Train No. 07075 / 07076 Hyderabad – Gorakhpur / Gorakhpur – Hyderabad

Train No. 05073 / 05074 KSR Bengaluru – Lal Kuan / Lal Kuan – KSR Bengaluru Special

Train No. 06509 / 06510 KSR Bengaluru – Danapur / Danapur – KSR Bengaluru Special

These trains will be diverted via Wardha – Badnera – Chandur Bazar – Narkher – Itarsi route and vice versa.

Regulation of Trains

The following trains will be regulated en route by approximately 10 minutes to 2 hours:

Train No. 22614 Ayodhya Cantt. – Rameswaram Express

Train No. 12670 Chhapra – MGR Chennai Central Express

Train No. 18030 / 12102 Shalimar – Lokmanya Tilak Terminus Express

Train No. 22906 Shalimar – Okha Express

Train No. 12906 Shalimar – Porbandar Express

Passenger Advisory

Railways stated that additional staff will be deployed on Platform No. 3 to assist passengers. Passengers have been advised to check platform numbers in advance through official railway sources and only passengers with valid tickets should approach Platform No. 3 to avoid overcrowding.
