Pune: Namacha Gajar on June 27th
Pune, 22 June 2023 : City based Kalashree Sangeet Mandal is organizing ‘Namacha Gajar’, a special program dedicated to the Abhanga tradition of Maharashtra on June 27th at 5:30pm at MES Auditorium, Balshikshan Mandir School, Mayur Colony, Pune. Entry to this program is free on a first come first serve basis. This is the seventh edition of the program. The program is supported by Tech Xpert, Bank of Maharashtra, City Rise Crafted by Amanora.
This year the program will feature Indian Idol Fame Jagdish Chavan, well known actress, playback singer and music composer Ketaki Mategaokar, grandson and son of Bharat Ratna Pandit Bhimsen Joshi Viraj and Shrinivas Joshi. All these artists would be accompanied by Avinash Dighe and Uday Kulkarni on Harmonium, Pandurang Pawar and Prashant Pandav on Tabla and Gambhir Maharaj on Pakhawaj. Akash Thite will play the role of an anchor for the program.
During this program, every year Vaishnav Puraskar is presented to the individuals having outstanding contributions to Indian Classical Music. This year Dr. Nandkishor Kapote will be awarded with Vaishnav Puraskar. The award is in the form of Rs.11000/- cash and a memento.
