New Delhi, February 2021, 12: The country’s digital land enrollment has almost reached its end. More than 90 percent of the land in most states of the country has been digitized. It will help in implementing the ‘One Nation One Registry’ scheme. Digitization of land documents and computerization of land ownership is already being done.

This work has been almost completed in 24 states and union territories. Along with making the registry of land in the country transparent, progress is also being made towards its uniformity. With this initiative, fake registrations of many people holding land with the same number will be controlled.

There are 6.58 lakh villages in the country, out of which land in 5.98 lakh villages has been computerized. The process is near completion in all states. After digitization, people can see the land online anywhere. Apart from the land details, the ownership of the land can also be investigated. This initiative will help in curbing fraud.

This One Nation One software has been brought under the National Generic Document Registration System. The scheme has gained momentum in 10 states of the country. The people of Andaman and Nicobar, Dadra Nagar Haveli, Goa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Manipur, Maharashtra, Mizoram, and Punjab are taking advantage of this scheme.

Along with computerizing the land documents, the land map is also being digitized. More than 90 percent of land maps of 22 states have been digitized. The registrar and sub-registrar offices have also been added. An SMS will be sent to the landowner’s registered mobile number while making the land deed. After that, verification of e-KYC, payment gateway, and PAN will be done. It won’t be easy to get a fake document prepared after this process.
