Nation First Event Honours Disabled Soldiers and Patriotism at Symbiosis University

Pune, 23 June 2025: In a heartfelt celebration of patriotism and sacrifice, the Marathi Patrakaar Sangh organized a grand event on the theme “Nation First” at the Symbiosis International University auditorium. The highlight of the event was the felicitation of 20 disabled soldiers from Queen Mary’s Technical Institute (QMTI), Pune, and their mentor Col Dr Vasant Ballewar, the Dean of the Institute.
The chief guest, Hon’ble Shri Nitin Gadkari, Cabinet Minister, Government of India, honoured the brave soldiers and Col Ballewar with medals and a Trophy, lauding their courage and the exemplary rehabilitation efforts of QMTI.
The atmosphere brimmed with national fervour, as students and civilians dressed in traditional attire welcomed the heroes with slogans of patriotism, waving the Tiranga in their tiny hands. The mood reached a patriotic crescendo during Col Ballewar’s stirring address and the recital of his impactful poems ‘Ab Inhe Mitana Baki Hai’ and ‘Sindoor Suraksha Kavach’, both of which received thunderous applause.
Padma Bhushan Shri S. B. Mujumdar, Founder of Symbiosis, along with senior dignitaries from Lokamanya Group, Pudhari, Tarun Bharat, and Lokmat, graced the occasion as guests of honour and delivered motivating speeches underscoring the eternal relevance of the “Nation First” philosophy.
The visionary behind the event, Shri Kiran Joshi, President, Marathi Patrakaar Sangh, was widely appreciated for his dedication and tireless efforts in conceptualizing and executing such a meaningful tribute to India’s heroes.
The event stood as a vivid reminder of the country’s undying spirit and deep gratitude towards those who serve and sacrifice for the nation.
