National Lok Adalat to be Held on September 13 in Pune District Courts
Pune, 29th August 2025: The National Lok Adalat will be organized on Saturday, September 13, 2025, across all courts in Pune district to resolve disputes through mediation, the District Legal Services Authority (DLSA) announced.
DLSA Chairman Mahendra Mahajan and Secretary Sonal Patil appealed to litigants to actively participate and take benefit of the initiative.
Cases related to motor vehicle accident compensation, family disputes, civil matters, criminal compoundable offences under Section 320 of the Criminal Procedure Code, cheque bounce cases, pending cases in district courts, as well as disputes filed by banks, electricity companies, and those under the Motor Vehicle Act will be taken up for settlement.
Citizens who wish to place their cases before the Lok Adalat may approach the respective court, the DLSA, or the Taluka Legal Services Committee. They can also seek assistance from their lawyers to list cases for mediation.
Explaining the benefits, Patil stated that if a case is resolved in the Lok Adalat, the court fee is refunded as per rules, and decisions are delivered immediately. Since Lok Adalat decisions are final and cannot be appealed, the process helps reduce animosity between parties while saving both time and money.
