Naval Kishore Ram Appointed as Pune Municipal Commissioner, To Take Charge on May 31

Pune, 21st May 2025: In a significant administrative reshuffle, the Maharashtra government has appointed senior IAS officer Naval Kishore Ram as the new Commissioner of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC). He will officially assume office on May 31, 2025, replacing Dr Rajendra Bhosale, who is set to retire on the same day.

The General Administration Department (GAD) confirmed the appointment through a notification issued earlier this week. The directive, signed by Additional Chief Secretary (Services) Rajesh Kumar, instructs Ram to take charge in the afternoon following Bhosale’s superannuation.

Naval Kishore Ram, a 2008-batch IAS officer of the Maharashtra cadre, brings extensive experience in public administration to the role. His past assignments include serving as the Collector of Beed and Aurangabad districts, and later as Pune’s District Collector from April 2018 till August 2020. During his previous tenure in Pune, he was credited with several impactful initiatives in urban planning and governance. He also served a stint at the Prime Minister’s Office, contributing to policy implementation at the national level.
