NCP Foundation Day Event in Pune’s Balewadi Brings Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway to a Standstill

Pune, 10th June 2025: The Ajit Pawar-led Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) is celebrating its foundation day in Pune’s Balewadi area, drawing a large crowd of party officebearers, workers, VIPs, and hundreds of supporters. The high-profile gathering has brought the already notorious Balewadi traffic to a grinding halt, completely paralyzing the Katraj-Dehu Road Bypass section of the Mumbai-Bengaluru Highway.
Traffic jams stretching at least 3 to 5 kilometers have been reported, with frustrated commuters stranded for hours. Despite the presence of traffic police on the scene, their efforts have proven ineffective against the sheer volume of vehicles. The situation has been worsened by the arrival of numerous luxury buses arranged by NCP, adding to the chaos and inconvenience for regular travelers.
For many Pune residents and travelers, the celebration has turned into a nightmare, as one of Maharashtra’s key highways remains blocked in a crucial part of the city. The event has sparked criticism, with citizens calling the disruption a “curse” for anyone hoping to travel through the area today.
