NEET UG 2025 To Be Conducted In Thirteen Languages
New Delhi, 13th March 2025: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced that the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) UG 2025 will be conducted in 13 languages, offering candidates a wide range of options for the medical entrance exam.
The exam, scheduled for May 4, 2025, will be held in offline mode across various centers in India and abroad. This move aims to ensure that language barriers do not hinder aspirants from pursuing their medical education dreams.
The NEET UG 2025 will be available in English, Hindi, Assamese, Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu. This diverse language selection allows students from different regions to take the exam in their preferred language, potentially improving their performance and reducing stress during the crucial test.
According to the NTA, candidates must carefully choose their preferred exam language while filling out the application form. Once selected, the language option cannot be changed later. This emphasizes the importance of making an informed decision during the application process.
The exam pattern remains consistent across all language options, with a total of 180 multiple-choice questions covering Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology. The test will be conducted over a duration of three hours, from 2 PM to 5 PM (IST), with a total of 720 marks.
An NTA spokesperson stated, “Our goal is to provide equal opportunities to all aspiring medical students across the country. By offering the NEET UG exam in 13 languages, we aim to remove language barriers and allow candidates to showcase their true potential.”
It’s important to note that while candidates can choose their preferred language, there are some restrictions based on exam center locations. For instance, the Assamese language option is only available at exam centers in Assam, while Bengali is offered in centers across West Bengal, Tripura, and the Andaman & Nicobar Islands.
The NTA has also clarified that in case of any discrepancies in translations, the English version of the question will be considered final. This ensures consistency and fairness in the evaluation process across all language versions of the exam.
Dr. Rajesh Kumar, a medical education expert, commented on the development, saying, “This multilingual approach is a significant step towards inclusivity in medical education. It will help talented students from various linguistic backgrounds to compete on a more level playing field.”
As the NEET UG 2025 approaches, candidates are advised to familiarize themselves with the exam pattern, syllabus, and language options available to them. With over 24 lakh registrations recorded in the previous year, the NEET UG continues to be one of the most competitive entrance exams in India.
The NTA has set up helpline numbers (011-69227700, 011-40759000) and email addresses ([email protected], [email protected]) for candidates seeking assistance or clarification regarding the exam. As the medical aspirants gear up for this crucial test, the multilingual format is expected to provide a more inclusive and accessible platform for all.
