NIA And IB Teams May Go To Russia To Investigate Indian Link Of ISIS Terrorist

New Delhi, 23rd August 2022: A leader of the banned Islamic State recruited a foreign national as a suicide bomber during his stay in Turkey between April and June this year.
Teams from the National Investigation Agency (NIA) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB), a domestic internal security and counter-intelligence agency, are expected to visit Russia. These teams are going to Moscow to interrogate the Islamic State (ISIS) suicide bomber arrested in Russia. Russia has arrested an Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist for plotting a suicide attack on a top Indian leadership leader. Russia’s top intelligence agency said on Monday that the man hailed from a Central Asian country and had received training to carry out a suicide attack.
According to sources, it was said that ‘’The teams of NIA and IB will hold a meeting with the Federal Security Service, Russia’s intelligence agency. Indian agencies will get all the information about the captured ISIS terrorist from the Russian intelligence agency to find out about his India link.’’ Earlier, the state news agency ‘Taas’ reported that according to Russia’s intelligence agency, ‘Federal Security Service’ (FSB), a leader of the banned Islamic State killed a foreign national during his stay in Turkey between April and June this year and was admitted to the organization as a suicide bomber.
“The Federal Security Service has identified and apprehended a member of the international terrorist organization ‘Islamic State in Russia,” the FSB said. The detained man is a citizen of a Central Asian country and had planned a suicide attack on a member of the top leadership of India’s ruling party. The FSB’s ‘Center for Public Relations’ (CPR) said the organization’s ideology was instilled in his mind during a personal meeting with the social media platform ‘Telegram’ and an ISIS representative in Istanbul.
According to the news, the FSB mentioned that the terrorist took an oath of allegiance to the ‘Amir’ (chief) of ISIS, after which he was directed to go to Russia and obtain the necessary documents so that he could go to India and be able to perform the act. Russia’s intelligence agency did not reveal the identity of the terrorist. They have admitted that he was preparing to commit a terrorist act against a member of India’s ruling party because of the insult to Prophet Muhammad.
