No e-way bill on goods carrying up to rupees one lakh in Maharashtra state

Mumbai, 31/8/2019: No e-way bill will be charged on the goods carrying up to rupees one lakh in Maharashtra. Finance Minister Sudhir Mungantiwar explained that goods carrying supply worth Rs. 50 thousand is chargeable limit for e-way bill in other states.

E-way bill implementation has been started under GST Act to prevent tax-evading and proper tax payment. E-way bill system implementation started in the state on 1 April 2018. 11 crore 92 lakh 57 thousand 315 e-way bills are created till now. 77 lakh 41 thousand 407 e-way bills are made in June month only. Maharashtra stands first in the country in e-way bill creation. There is no need to pay state-wise e-way bills in this. One single e-way bill can be used in whole country. Traffic system has become speedier as goods carriers are not stopped on every checking tollbooths, told Shri. Mungantiwar.

The e-way bill limit for interstate goods carrying is Rs. 50 thousand in the whole country. The limit decided for goods carrying in the state is Rs. one lakh for small-scale industrialists in the state so that they will find it easy and will not have to face difficulties in business. Small-scale industrialists, businesspersons in the state are relieved due to this decision.

Shri. Mungantiwar told that if raw cotton, cotton fiber, garment, cloths, etc. goods are sent in any quantity for processing in the spheres of 50 km in the state, it will also be exempted from e-way bill.
