No Excuses Now, Pune Police Opens Bank Account To Receive Fine Online

Pune, 26th June 2021: The lockdown has been lifted in most parts of the state and citizens can now run their errands. However, many of them roam around without wearing masks or violate other Coronavirus disease (COVID19) rules.
Pune Police fine these people but some of them try excuses like not having adequate cash and offer to pay through UPI or other online modes. However, Pune Police didn’t accept online payment earlier and sometimes cops accepted money in their accounts. This also led to many allegations.
Now Pune Police have opened an account with HDFC bank for accepting online payments. Police fine mask-less people, those who do not follow social distancing, and shopkeepers who do not close their shops on time.
Police personnel have also been trained in this regard. The initiative was taken after due instructions of Pune Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta.
In the last three days, Pune police have received Rs 24,000 fine via online payment method.
