No Home Isolation In PCMC Area; Institutional Quarantine Rules To Be Implemented For COVID Patients

Pimpri, 1st June 2021: Pimpri Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (PCMC) will now give priority to institutional quarantine and no home isolation will be allowed in the city for Coronavirus disease (COVID19 patients, said Rajesh Patil, commissioner PCMC.

 

The Covid-19 infected patients in the PCMC area will now have to admit themselves into quarantine centres established by the municipal corporation. The person can also be permitted to stay at the hotel or his clubhouse or hall where the facilities are available. The exception will be given to pregnant women, disabled people, bedridden patient and single parents who don’t have anyone to take care of children. They will be permitted for home isolation after the check-up by a medical officer.

Patil said, “All private hospitals must provide information about the Covid-19 positive patient to the municipal corporation and they have to fill up the information on the ‘me Jababadar’ app. The login and password will be provided by the municipal corporation and it is the responsibility of the hospital administration that the patient even with mild symptoms should not be allowed for home isolation except for the given categories.”

 

PCMC has also formed 32 ward level COVID vigilance committees for taking steps for the prevention of the third wave.

Pimpri Chinchwad mayor Usha alias Mai Dhore said that PCMC will set up institutional quarantine centres, COVID-19 testing centres, fever clinics and war rooms at the zonal level.
