No Lockdown But Additional Restrictions Imposed In Pune Due To Rising Corona Cases

Pune, 12th March 2021: The number of corona cases is increasing in the district. Deputy Chief Minister and District Guardian Minister Ajit Pawar today directed the citizens to cooperate with the administration and take strict action against those who do not follow the precautionary rules against corona infection.

A review meeting was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar with the people’s representatives and senior administrative officials of the district regarding the Corona situation measures.

Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar briefed the meeting about the current status of coronavirus and the measures being taken by the administration, as well as the vaccination campaign. He also instructed the authorities to take immediate action by suggesting necessary measures.

Pawar said, “The number of victims is increasing in the district. In many places, there are complaints that citizens are still not receiving enough care. Strict adherence to restrictions is essential to break the chain, extend tests using full capacity in laboratories, and conduct surveys through home visits by health workers.”

“Contact and coordinate with the citizens in the house isolation. Strict action should be taken in such cases and permission should be given only if all the criteria are met while approving the house isolation. Emphasis should be placed on institutional isolation, and teams should be appointed in crowded and public places, so they can avoid the crowd.”

Deputy CM also directed the system to take timely punitive action against those who do not wear masks.

Mayor Muralidhar Mohol said there was a need to increase the capacity of tests for diagnosis in view of the growing number of corona patients.

MP Girish Bapat said that public awareness is needed to prevent the spread of corona and there is a need to increase the participation of social organizations. He said that there is a need to create awareness in society.

Divisional Commissioner Saurabh Rao informed regarding the current planning for corona infection in Pune district, corona affected area wise information, corona infected patients, active patients, corona infectious cycle, hotspot area, age affected patients and death details, monthly corona infected patients and death rate details.

Collector Dr Rajesh Deshmukh informed regarding the current situation of Covid-19 in the rural areas and the measures being taken by the administration.

Chokalingam, Pune Municipal Commissioner Vikram Kumar, Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Commissioner Rajesh Patil, Pune city Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta, Pimpri Chinchwad Commissioner of Police Krishna Prakash, District Superintendent of Police Dr Abhinav Deshmukh, Chief Executive Officer of Zilla Parishad Ayush Prasad, Retired Director-General of Health Dr Subhash Salunke, Dr Pradip Awate and other senior officials were present.
