No Untoward Incident During Pune Bandh Today: Jt CP Ravindra Shisve

Pune, 11th October 2021: The Maha Vikas Aghadi (MVA) had called a bandh today to protest the incident of farmers being crushed by an SUV in Lakhimpur Kheri, Uttar Pradesh. Most shops remained closed in Pune till afternoon.

Shiv Sena, Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) and Congress staged protests at Shivajinagar, Vishrambag, Bundgarden, Sinhagad Road, Hadapsar.

Against the backdrop of the agitation, two additional police commissioners, two deputy commissioners of police, eight assistant commissioners of police, 13 police inspectors, 76 assistant police inspectors, 87 police sub-inspectors, and about 3,000 police personnel were deployed for security.

Apart from that, senior police officers and concerned police station chiefs reviewed the situation from time to time. As the protesters cooperated with the police, there was peace in the city, said Joint Commissioner of Police Dr Ravindra Shisve.
