Mumbai, 3rd August 2023Bollywood actress Nora Fatehi appeared in Delhi’s Patiala House Court on Monday to give her statement in the defamation case she filed against fellow actor Jacqueline Fernandez. Nora asserted that she was wrongfully implicated in a money laundering case involving conman Sukesh Chandrasekhar and had no association with the individuals involved in the matter.

In her statement, Nora expressed her frustration, stating, “They have labelled me as a gold digger and falsely accused me of having a relationship with the con artist Sukesh Chandrasekhar. My name was included in an ongoing criminal case to divert attention away from the real culprits.”

The case in question involves a Rs 200 crore money laundering allegation against Sukesh Chandrasekhar by the Enforcement Directorate (ED), with Jacqueline Fernandez being considered an alleged accused. Nora Fatehi and Chahatt Khanna have come forward as crucial witnesses in the ongoing extortion case against Chandrashekar, with the Delhi Police leading the investigation.

Jacqueline’s legal representative responded to the situation with a statement, clarifying that they had not received any official communication from the court regarding these developments. The lawyer emphasized that Jacqueline has always maintained a dignified silence about the case, as it is currently sub-judice and pending before the honourable courts. Any legal arguments or filings must respect the sanctity of the judicial proceedings, and discussing them in the public domain may constitute civil and criminal contempt of court. They further warned that Jacqueline reserves the right to seek legal remedies if she is wrongly dragged into unwarranted litigation or fake cases.

It’s worth noting that on December 12 of the previous year, Nora Fatehi had filed a defamation suit against Jacqueline Fernandez and certain media organizations, alleging that they were conspiring together against her about the money laundering case involving Sukesh Chandrasekhar.
