Mumbai, 3rd August 2023: Akshay Kumar’s highly anticipated film, OMG 2, has unveiled an exciting new trailer shortly after receiving an ‘Adults Only’ certification. The trailer, directed by Amit Rai, features fresh footage and offers a glimpse into the intriguing storyline. Originally scheduled for release on Wednesday, August 1, the trailer was respectfully delayed by a day following the unfortunate passing of art director Nitin Desai.

The trailer opens with Lord Shiva instructing Nandi to dispatch a messenger to aid one of his devout followers. This revelation confirms that Akshay Kumar’s character is not portraying Lord Shiva but rather a devoted messenger of God. Additionally, the trailer showcases Pankaj Tripathi’s character fighting a compelling court case to defend his son.

The film underwent a series of changes suggested by the Censor Board, leading to its ‘Adults Only’ certification. News18 gained access to a document outlining the modifications made, which include altering the portrayal of Shiv ji as a devotee and messenger of God. Several visual alterations were also made, such as replacing frontal nudity with scenes featuring Naga Sadhus and removing a controversial billboard featuring the ‘Mood X condom’ poster. The mention of Ling was modified to refer to Shivling or Shiv in relevant contexts only.

OMG 2 marks the sequel to the 2012 film OMG, in which Akshay Kumar played the lead role. Notably, Paresh Rawal, who was part of the original movie, will not be returning for the sequel. Instead, Pankaj Tripathi has joined the franchise, alongside Yami Gautam, who plays a significant role. The film reportedly delves into the topic of sex education, though no official confirmation has been provided.

The much-awaited OMG 2 is scheduled for release on August 11, clashing with Sunny Deol’s Gadar 2 and superstar Rajinikanth’s film Jailer. Fans are eagerly anticipating this compelling cinematic experience.
