Minister Mushrif said that menstruation for women in tribal and rural areas is a very important yet questionable topic regarding their health. In the last one year, eight lakh women worldwide have died due to carelessness during menstruation. To reduce this, the Rural Development Department will implement a new scheme for women below the poverty line in the state. Rs 200 crore is expected to be spent on this scheme.

Out of 320 million menstruating women in India, only 12% use sanitary napkins. As a result, two-thirds of the deaths of more than 60,000 women from cervical cancer in India in four years are due to negligence during the time of menstruation. Only 66% of women in the state use sanitary napkins.

In the Menstrual Hygiene Conservation Scheme implemented by the Health Department, only girls under the age of 19 are provided with six napkins for Rs 6. The scheme is currently underway.
