Reliance Jio has started its 4G services at Hemkund, situated at a height of 13650 feet. Jio is the first operator to deliver this service to Hemkund. The company has set up three communication towers at Hemkund Sahib, Ghangharia and Govindghat. This will greatly facilitate the tourists and devotees visiting Hemkund and Valley of Flowers.

Hemkund Sahib is a famous pilgrimage place for Sikhs, located at an elevation of 15,225 feet above sea level in Chamoli district of Uttarakhand. The journey here is quite thrilling, in which every year many devotees from the country and abroad visit. Along with this, they also reach the for the sight seeing of the world-famous flower valley. Previously, the main stop of Hemkund was the telecom service of BSNL till Ghangharia, due to which the passengers had to face a lot of problems due to lack of network during the onward journey. But now Jio has given a big gift to travellers by connecting this pilgrimage with 4G service.

In fact, the 4G network of Jio in Govindghat and Ghangharia village area of Hemkund has started functioning. Along with calling in the travel area, video calling will also be easily done. Not only this, with the speed of the internet, information about nearby tourist and religious places will also be available immediately, which is expected to boost the tourist industry in Devbhoomi.

The agreement was signed between the government and Reliance Jio last year
