Now Girl Students From Remote Areas In Maharashtra Will Get Rs 5000 To Purchase A Bicycle

Pune, 21st February 2022: Maharashtra government will implement a Human Development programme in 125 underdeveloped tehsils in 23 districts of the state. Under this, Rs 5000 will be given to girls studying between 8th to 12th standard and living within five kilometres of the school to purchase a bicycle.

 

Earlier, the government provided Rs 3000 for the bicycle and then added Rs 500 more later. Now, Rs 1500 has been added to this fund, thus Rs 5000 will be provided to girls.

 

To avail of the benefits of this scheme, Rs 3500 will be deposited to the bank account through direct benefit transfer (DBT). After submitting the purchase receipt and other necessary documents remaining Rs 1500 will be deposited into the bank account. One can purchase the bicycle at any point between the 8th to 12th standards. The funds will be given once in four years.
