Pune Police: E-Pass Not Required For Vehicle Movement Now

Pune, August 31, 2020: After the Maharashtra government today issued fresh guidelines for lockdown in September, Pune City Police has clarified that now e-pass will not be required for vehicle movement.

 

Deputy Commissioner of Police Bachchan Singh said, “As per the new unlock guidelines by the state government, there will be no requirement for e-pass or any other permission for inter-district movement.”

 

According to the Maharashtra government guidelines, there shall be no restriction on inter-district movement of persons and goods including those for cross land-border trade under treaties with the neighbouring countries. No separate permission/approval / e-permit will be required for the vehicles and the persons travelling therein for such movements. 

 

Passenger movement by private bus / mini-bus and other operators will be allowed. The standard operating procedure (SOP) for the same will be issued by the Transport Commissioner, Maharashtra.  

 

Movement of people in all public and private transport is allowed in following manner: 

Taxi/Cab/aggregator – Driver + 3 

Rickshaw – Driver + 2 

Four Wheeler – Driver + 3 

Two-wheeler – 1 + 1 with helmet and mask. 

Wearing of mask shall be compulsory in the transport system. 

 

Protection of vulnerable persons:- Persons above 65 years of age, persons with co-morbidities, pregnant women and children below the age of 10 years are advised to stay at home, except for essential and health purposes. 

 

The movement of persons for the purposes of non-essential activities will be carried out with all necessary prescribed mandatory precautions of wearing masks, social distancing and personal hygiene.
