Now Pune Traffic Police Have Got Two DCPs To Resolve Problems
Pune, 22nd October 2022: Police Commissioner Amitabh Gupta has appointed IPS officer DCP Bhagyashree Navtake as supervising officer for traffic branch headed by DCP Rahul Shrirame.
Apart from that, 300 more staff have been appointed to solve the issue of traffic jams.
The staff should keep the traffic smooth, regulation should be prioritised from constables to senior officers at intersections. DCP Shrirame was instructed by seniors not to levy fines during peak hours, and to plan traffic in central places as well as in suburbs. However, no planning was done for them.
In addition, citizens have been affected by traffic jams due to Diwali shopping for a few days. Due to this, some political parties expressed their displeasure through statements. Accordingly, Commissioner of Police Amitabh Gupta handed over the charge to Bhagyashree Navatke, who is currently heading the economic offences wing (EOW) and cyber crime under the Crime Branch. Shrirame has been ordered to submit the traffic report to Navtake every day.
There are currently huge traffic jams in the city. Since manpower is also given as the reason, Police Commissioner Gupta has given orders for traffic planning by giving additional 300 personnel to the traffic branch to solve the traffic jam.
