Pune, 3 March 2021: Savitribai Phule Pune University (SPPU) has decided to decline the request of final year students for refunding the exam fees collected from them during the online-based examination.

However, in a review meeting held on Tuesday, February 24, Management Council had decided to refund the exam fees.

Against the backdrop of the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak, exams were cancelled by the University. Students were promoted to the next class, except for final year students.

Mahesh Kakade, Director of Examination and Evaluation, SPPU, said, “We took online examinations last year. Sometimes we had to take the examination twice, release and analyse results multiple times and provided the statement of marks several times to students. Therefore, it won’t be possible for the university to give refund exam fees.”

Earlier, SPPU has called out its alumni for financial support as it continues to face a financial crunch amid the Coronavirus imposed restrictions.
