Now These Categories of Shops Also Allowed to open in Pune
Pune, May 12, 2020: Pune Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad today issued another order about the opening of new categories of shops in the non-containment zones. He also issued some advisory for shopkeepers. Different categories of shops will be allowed on different days of the week.
The shops can be opened from 7 am to 7 pm. The shopkeeper and employees must be staying outside the containment zone. They should have identity cards with photo. They should use hand gloves and masks. Also, hand sanitizer/soap should be regularly used for cleaning hands.
Also, shopkeepers have to use 1% Sodium hypochlorite (bleach) for cleaning outside area and staircase. Also, the sale counter should be cleaned after the customer goes. People going to buy anything must use a mask. Social distancing should be maintained. There should be six feet gap between customers.
Monday – Ironing and laundry, Stationary, raw materials for medical requirements
Tuesday – Automobile spare parts, household goods, furniture
Wednesday – Footwear, Ironing and laundry, Stationary, raw materials for medical requirements
Thursday – Stationary, Automobile spare parts, household goods, furniture
Friday – Ironing and laundry, Footwear, Construction Materials, raw materials for medical requirements
Saturday – Automobile spare parts, household goods, furniture, construction materials, ironing and laundry
Sunday – Automobile spare parts, household goods, stationery, footwear, construction materials
However, all malls and shopping complexes will remain closed. Also, non-essential shops will remain closed on Laxmi Road, Bajirao Road, Shivaji Road, Tilak Road, Appa Balwant Chowk, Kumthekar Road, MG Road, Kondhwa Road, NIBM Road.
The order to keep shops in Pune had earlier created confusion in the minds of many traders. Therefore, many questions were raised as to whether the shops should be continued or not, which shops are allowed to continue. Also, District Collector has clarified that no liquor shop can be opened within meters of the containment zone.
Few days ago, PMC had issued order open following categories of shops as per their week days.
Monday: Electronic goods, Computer and mobile phone sale and repair shops, electric goods sale and repair, utensils
Tuesday: Garage, hardware, plumbing, construction materials, clothes, dairy products
Wednesday: Electronic goods, Computer and mobile phone sale and repair shops, electric goods sale and repair, utensils
Thursday: Garage, hardware, plumbing, construction materials, clothes, dairy products
Friday: Electronic goods, Computer and mobile phone sale and repair shops, electric goods sale and repair, utensils
Saturday: Garage, hardware, plumbing, construction materials, clothes, dairy products
Sunday: Garage, hardware, plumbing, construction materials, clothes, dairy products
