Now you can order vegetables, groceries online, Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad police restore supply chain

Pune, March 25, 2020: As home delivery service providers for food and groceries besides e-commerce companies struggled to supply various products, Pune city police and Pimpri-Chinchwad police came forward to help them out.

Police reached out various companies including Amazon, Grofers, ninjacart, Big Bazaar, Reliance Retail, Big Basket etc, to understand issues faced by them especially vehicle movement as it is banned in Pune, Pimpri-Chinchwad. The services are expected to be restored by March 25.

Due to a nationwide lockdown because of COVID-19, order deliveries services were paused by many companies.

Earlier in his address, Chief Minister Uddhav Thackeray said, “We have enough stock of essential commodities and food grains, do not worry. In any case, shops selling essential goods & services will not be shut. So, I appeal to you, please do not panic.”

When contacted, Ninjacart official said, “We are functional and we are distributing in all our centres. We have also started distributing to societies and apartments directly.”

The number of Coronavirus positive patients has reached 112 in Maharashtra, while tally has reached 585 across the country. In Pune and Pimpri-Chinchwad, there are 31 positive cases and two of them were discharged today after they were treated for 14 days.

The CM also said, “I urge all the employers, owners of the companies, factories, that even though you’ll are asked to shut down your operation, please do not stop paying minimum wages to your staff/labour. This is my sincere appeal and I expect you’ll to do this purely on humanitarian grounds.”
